They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Caleb Williams is the Commanders' quarterback, full stop. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
The Clark steal is the beam this whole class leans on. For all the activity, cornerback went untouched, which is hard to explain.
The Randolph Jr. pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.
Good work on the whole, with cornerback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 2 they get the arm they will build around. A real need, handled.
In slot 30 they get a go-to option on the outside at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
A premium they did not need to pay, Jackson Powers-Johnson a notch or two before his time. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Nothing to complain about; Jeremiah Trotter Jr. went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Johnny Wilson at No. 86. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
No edge and no loss on Theo Johnson in the 139th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They liked Keith Randolph Jr. enough to skip the value, taking him in the 143rd overall pick. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A conviction pick on Justin Eboigbe at Round 5, Pick 27 that the board grades a round light. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Frank Gore Jr. at pick No. 181 is money in the bank, a running back taken below his worth. It fills a real need, too.
De'Corian Clark in slot 220 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They read the board right and Zion Nelson was the payoff at Round 7, Pick 3. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
