Start where it matters. The Commanders took Caleb Williams to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.
A whole weekend of picks and tight end is somehow still a want. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Corley.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 2 they get their quarterback of the future. A clean fit for the roster.
They paid sticker price for Troy Fautanu in Round 2, Pick 4, and that is fine. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Quinyon Mitchell in the 40th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
No drama and no debate, Adisa Isaac went about where he belonged in pick No. 67. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Christian Mahogany slid further than he should have, and the Round 3 slot is lovely value for the offensive lineman. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Malachi Corley at slot 102 is the proof. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
