Every other box got a look, but quarterback did not. The Chiefs will head to camp with the same hole they walked in with. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.
Travis has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 26 they get a mismatch in the passing game at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Aeneas Peebles in the 58th pick is fair value, right on his grade. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
By-the-book stuff, Jacobee Bryant at the 90th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Jack Kiser at the Round 4 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It fills a real need, too.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Jalen Travis this early at pick 154. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Moose Muhammad III in pick No. 193 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Damon Payne Jr. in No. 218 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
