Boards are made to be trusted, and the Patriots shredded theirs for Garret Greenfield. He came off 41 spots early, and the room will hear about it. A dependable weekend that grades out a B+.
They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Gerald Everett gives the group a proven body among the projects.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 5 they get an anchor for the offensive line. A clean fit for the roster.
By-the-book stuff, Adonai Mitchell at Round 2, Pick 2 squarely in line with his ranking. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Spencer Rattler in the Round 3 slot is fair value, right on his grade. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Xavier Legette at No. 69 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Renardo Green in pick 102 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A reach on Justin Eboigbe in the 136th overall pick; the board had better options right there. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Garret Greenfield well ahead of where he belonged. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
