You build a draft on nights like this. Marlin Klein had no business being available in the 202nd overall pick, and the Jaguars did the only sane thing and turned in the card.
Reaching for Reiger left real value on the table behind him. On the needs board they went 9 of 9, with wide receiver the one that mattered most.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
Peter Woods at the 56th overall pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Taking Jadarian Price in slot 88 is close to grand larceny; a running back that good had no business lasting this long. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Michael Taaffe at pick No. 95 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. The roster fit checks out.
They robbed the room for Treydan Stukes here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They talked themselves into Mason Reiger at pick 124, and the board did not agree. A minor need, but a need all the same.
A offensive lineman of that caliber at the 131st pick is the definition of value, full stop. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A premium they did not need to pay, Kaleb Elarms-Orr a notch or two before his time. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
