Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Eagles came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close.

Reaching for Nelson left real value on the table behind him. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. On value alone, Hadden makes the weekend a net positive.

It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.

Bottom line, they left the weekend a clearly better team, and they earned every bit of it.
