The Patriots spent the pick that matters most on J.J. McCarthy, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape.

The phones were where this weekend was really won. The All value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

It is a haul that will look even better come September.
