Green Bay Packers

The Packers worked the phones like thieves and earned a B.

The Packers put a flag in the ground for Kedon Slovis, 85 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit.

The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. The Schrader value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.25 · Pick 25 · Cooper DeJean · CB · rank 26
In pick 25 they get a ballhawk on the outside. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
R1.27 · Pick 27 · Graham Barton · OT · rank 25
In Round 1, Pick 27 they get a building block for the line at fair value. A real need, handled.
R2.19 · Pick 51 · Edgerrin Cooper · LB · rank 49
A straight-up fair deal on Edgerrin Cooper at the 51st overall pick, value and slot in agreement. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
R2.26 · Pick 58 · Jaden Hicks · S · rank 85
They reached a country mile for Jaden Hicks at the Round 2 slot, and the board is aghast. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
R3.25 · Pick 88 · Christian Mahogany · OG · rank 98
The board had cheaper options than Christian Mahogany at the 88th pick, and it noticed. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R3.26 · Pick 89 · Blake Corum · RB · rank 84
Nothing to complain about; Blake Corum went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R4.24 · Pick 124 · Luke McCaffrey · WR · rank 149
This one needs a full-page explanation: Luke McCaffrey in pick 124, miles early. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R4.25 · Pick 125 · Brennan Jackson · DE-EDGE · rank 155
A real head-scratcher, Brennan Jackson in the 125th overall pick is miles ahead of his ranking. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R4.26 · Pick 126 · Ben Sinnott · TE · rank 129
Ben Sinnott in slot 126 is fair value, right on his grade. A need, and now a little less of one.
R5.33 · Pick 169 · Nathaniel Watson · LB · rank 212
Nathaniel Watson at Round 5, Pick 33 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
R6.3 · Pick 178 · Johnny Dixon · CB · rank 190
Johnny Dixon in the 178th pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R6.27 · Pick 202 · Cody Schrader · RB · rank 174
They robbed the room for Cody Schrader here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R6.45 · Pick 220 · Kedon Slovis · QB · rank 305
Kedon Slovis at pick No. 220 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R7.35 · Pick 255 · Jalen Sundell · OT · rank 246
Jalen Sundell at the Round 7 slot is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
