The Giants put a flag in the ground for Carson Steele, 74 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit.
Everything downstream of Jayden Daniels depends on Jayden Daniels, and the building knows it. The Fisher value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it.
Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 6 they get their guy under center for the next decade at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
No edge and no loss on Devontez Walker in No. 39; it is a wash and a sensible one. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A quiet steal in the 47th overall pick: Chop Robinson for less than the market said. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Jeremiah Trotter Jr. is a better player than pick 70 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Steal is underselling it; Malachi Corley at the 107th pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They will replay Blake Fisher at pick No. 143 for years; that is how good the value is. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
