When a board-topper like Tre Harris slides to Round 7, Pick 33, you do not overthink it, and the Eagles did not.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 32nd pick they get a blindside protector at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Nothing to complain about; Jonah Elliss went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Nehemiah Pritchett at the Round 5 slot is money in the bank, a cornerback taken below his worth. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A market-rate defensive back, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Malachi Moore. Not a spot anyone had flagged, which makes it a head-scratcher.
A slide stopped in No. 172, with J. Michael Sturdivant worth more than the price. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Raheim Sanders in the 177th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They barely believed it either: Tre Harris still on the board at pick 253. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
