Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Eagles came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
However the rest shakes out, Benson at that price is a win they earned. That wide receiver hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The Lindberg reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 22 they get a blindside protector, a steep price for the projection.
A slide stopped in the 54th pick, with Bralen Trice worth more than the price. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A running back of that caliber at the Round 3 slot is the definition of value, full stop. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
The board had Edefuan Ulofoshio higher than Round 5, Pick 34, and the linebacker fell to them anyway. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Chau Smith-Wade slid further than he should have, and slot 178 is lovely value for the cornerback. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A real head-scratcher, Chad Lindberg in No. 240 is miles ahead of his ranking. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
