When a board-topper like Thaddeus Dixon slides to No. 253, you do not overthink it, and the Ravens did not. No fireworks, but a solid B.
The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. They will need Wright to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 14 they get a workhorse for the backfield, outstanding value to boot.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Chris Bell in the Round 2 slot. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Connor Lew at the 80th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Jalen Farmer at pick No. 115 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing DeMonte Capehart in slot 154. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Charles Demmings slipping to the 162nd overall pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A reach for Dae'Quan Wright in No. 173; a little patience would have been rewarded. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They paid up for Kaleb Elarms-Orr at Round 5, Pick 34 when waiting would have done the job. A minor need, but a need all the same.
They let Taylen Green come to them and pounced at the 211th pick. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A tidy bit of business in slot 250, where Zavion Thomas graded well above the range. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Thaddeus Dixon in pick 253 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
