For all the boxes ticked, the Packers skipped the loudest one: quarterback is exactly as bare as it was.
They will need Hicks to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They banked enough surplus on Wiggins to cover a lot of smaller sins.
On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 25 they get a potential shutdown corner at a price that makes it sweeter. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
No drama and no debate, Chop Robinson went about where he belonged in the 41st pick. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A tidy little value on Kiran Amegadjie in Round 2, Pick 25, a step better than break-even. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
No edge and no loss on Marist Liufau in pick 88; it is a wash and a sensible one. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
A conviction pick on Jaden Hicks at No. 92 that the board grades a round light. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Good price on Jarrian Jones in the Round 4 slot, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
MarShawn Lloyd at pick No. 135 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
