The trade table was a mismatch, and the Dolphins were on the right end of it, hauling in a fortune in surplus value.
The cost of the Mahogany reach is exactly the players who went right after him. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
They read the board right and Kingsley Suamataia was the payoff at pick No. 59. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A big swing on Christian Mahogany at Round 5, Pick 28, well ahead of any board in the building. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Nelson Ceaser at the Round 6 slot is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the edge rusher. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Rylie Mills in slot 248 is fair value, right on his grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
