Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Buccaneers did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B-.

The rest of the league had time to spare on Vincent Anthony Jr.; the Buccaneers did not wait, grabbing him 75 spots ahead at Round 5, Pick 15.

However the rest shakes out, Jones at that price is a win they earned. The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

They were the ones paying the moving tax this weekend. On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with offensive lineman the one that mattered most.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.31 · Pick 31 · Sonny Styles · LB · rank 21
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Sonny Styles at the 31st overall pick. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
R2.14 · Pick 46 · Denzel Boston · WR · rank 30
A tidy bit of business in the 46th pick, where Denzel Boston graded well above the range. A need, and now a little less of one.
R3.13 · Pick 77 · Jake Golday · OLB · rank 59
Jake Golday at No. 77 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R4.16 · Pick 116 · Logan Jones · C · rank 91
Taking Logan Jones in pick 116 is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R4.31 · Pick 131 · Nadame Tucker · DE-EDGE · rank 174
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Nadame Tucker. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R5.15 · Pick 155 · Vincent Anthony Jr. · DE-EDGE · rank 230
They reached a country mile for Vincent Anthony Jr. at slot 155, and the board is aghast. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R6.14 · Pick 195 · Dae'Quan Wright · TE · rank 181
The board had Dae'Quan Wright higher than slot 195, and the tight end fell to them anyway. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R7.13 · Pick 229 · TJ Hall · CB · rank 222
A tidy little value on TJ Hall in No. 229, a step better than break-even. The roster fit checks out.
