The Giants spent the pick that matters most on Jayden Daniels, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.
That is a wide receiver worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 6th pick they get a franchise quarterback at fair value. A real need, handled.
Troy Fautanu slid further than he should have, and Round 2, Pick 7 is lovely value for the offensive lineman. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
T.J. Tampa in the Round 2 slot is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Keon Coleman in the 70th overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Austin Booker in slot 91. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Christian Mahogany at No. 106 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Theo Johnson in pick No. 140 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A need, and now a little less of one.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Dillon Johnson at pick 182 is the proof. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Steal is underselling it; Sione Vaki at No. 201 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Michael Barrett in Round 7, Pick 25 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
