The Giants did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Marist Liufau fell into No. 185. No fireworks, but a solid B.
Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. If Rattler pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 8 they get a weapon on the perimeter. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Kamari Lassiter in the Round 2 slot is fair value, right on his grade. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Amarius Mims in the 43rd overall pick, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A market-rate edge rusher, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Bralen Trice. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A straight-up fair deal on Cooper Beebe at No. 70, value and slot in agreement. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Spencer Rattler at the 108th pick jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They took Kalen King at par in Round 5, Pick 4, which is nothing to complain about. The roster fit checks out.
Steal is underselling it; Marist Liufau at slot 185 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A minor need, but a need all the same.
