For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The Giants walked out of the weekend still thin at safety, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons. No fireworks, but a solid B.
They banked enough surplus on Turner to cover a lot of smaller sins. The Pratt reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
The trade work was a quiet net positive. On the needs board they went 6 of 9, with interior defensive lineman the one that mattered most.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 12th overall pick they get a home-run threat at receiver. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
A quiet steal in No. 37: Dallas Turner for less than the market said. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Jordan Morgan at pick No. 44 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Cooper DeJean in the 54th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Byron Murphy II in the Round 3 slot is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A straight-up fair deal on Amarius Mims at pick 76, value and slot in agreement. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
