The Giants spent the pick that matters most on Drake Maye, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.
The Eichenberg reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. Leaving safety unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
That Smith pick is the receipt they will wave around later.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 5th pick they get a passer to set the clock by at fair value. A real need, handled.
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Troy Franklin. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They took Chris Braswell at par in slot 69, which is nothing to complain about. A need, and now a little less of one.
No edge and no loss on Amarius Mims in the Round 3 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A real head-scratcher, Tommy Eichenberg in pick 82 is miles ahead of his ranking. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Value with a capital V on Tyler Davis in No. 105, a genuine coup. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Zion Tupuola-Fetui in Round 5, Pick 6, miles early. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They went early on Christian Mahogany in pick No. 183, and the value did not follow. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A tidy bit of business in pick No. 187, where Ainias Smith graded well above the range. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
No drama and no debate, Jalen Catalon went about where he belonged in pick 217. It does not line up with the team's obvious holes.
