The real work happened on the phones. The Giants fleeced their trade partners, turning their picks into a noticeably bigger pile than they started with. Good, not great, and the B+ says as much.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. The Trice steal is the beam this whole class leans on.
The Drew Dalman pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns. Job largely done: safety settled and 6 of 9 of the wish list covered.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 10th overall pick they get a matchup problem out wide. Exactly the need they had to hit.
A edge rusher of that caliber at the 38th pick is the definition of value, full stop. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
J.J. McCarthy at No. 42 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Nice patience on Nate Wiggins, who had no business lasting to Round 2, Pick 15. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They took Jordan Morgan at par in the Round 2 slot, which is nothing to complain about. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
No drama and no debate, Kamren Kinchens went about where he belonged in pick 70. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
By-the-book stuff, Layden Robinson at No. 184 squarely in line with his ranking. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
