Start where it matters. The Giants took Jayden Daniels to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one.
On value alone, Odunze makes the weekend a net positive. They will need Gore Jr. to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through safety.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 6 they get their quarterback of the future. A clean fit for the roster.
They robbed the room for Rome Odunze here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A clean, defensible pick in Round 2, Pick 15 with a little surplus value in Kamari Lassiter. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
You do not let an offensive lineman like Jordan Morgan reach No. 70 and blink. They did not. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Tyler Davis at the 106th pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the interior defensive lineman. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Jaylan Ford at the Round 5 slot is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Jack Nelson slid further than he should have, and the 184th overall pick is lovely value for the offensive lineman. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Frank Gore Jr.. A need, and now a little less of one.
