The Cowboys did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Mike Washington Jr. fell into Round 3, Pick 28.
For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Perkins Jr. reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 12th overall pick they get a potential shutdown corner. The biggest hole, addressed.
In the 20th pick they get a green-dot type in the middle at a price that makes it sweeter. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
They will replay Mike Washington Jr. at slot 92 for years; that is how good the value is. The roster fit checks out.
A big swing on Harold Perkins Jr. at the Round 4 slot, well ahead of any board in the building. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
