The rest of the league had time to spare on Gino Garcia; the Commanders did not wait, grabbing him 37 spots ahead at No. 250. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.
The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. The Harris pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through tight end.
It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
Tre Harris at slot 81 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They will replay Ajani Cornelius at the 132nd pick for years; that is how good the value is. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
LeQuint Allen at Round 5, Pick 9 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. The roster fit checks out.
Cobee Bryant in the Round 6 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They read the board right and Trey Zuhn III was the payoff at pick No. 229. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They barely believed it either: Jonas Sanker still on the board at pick 238. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Gino Garcia at pick No. 250 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
