Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Jake Slaughter got past him. The Bears do not have to explain a thing at Round 3, Pick 25. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
Every board in the league had Llewellyn lower, and that gap is the story. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through running back. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 26 they get a disruptive interior force, reach and all. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Dillon Thieneman in the 57th pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A minor itch, scratched.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Blake Miller at Round 2, Pick 28 is the proof. It fills a real need, too.
The board fumbled Jake Slaughter all the way to the Round 3 slot, and they scooped it up. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Value said wait; Max Llewellyn in pick No. 129 says they were not listening. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They robbed the room for Jeff Caldwell here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Circle this one: Thaddeus Dixon at the 239th overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Miles Kitselman in pick 241. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
