The Dominique Hampton pick is the one that will follow the Chiefs into the fall. They took him 62 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. The Newton pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at quarterback.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback. The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not.

In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.
