This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Max Klare, the No. 78 name on the board, stolen at the Round 4 slot. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. They left with interior defensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 21 they get a sideline-to-sideline linebacker at fair value.
The board had Emmanuel Pregnon higher than the 53rd pick, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Antonio Williams slid further than he should have, and pick No. 76 is lovely value for the wide receiver. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Kamari Ramsey at Round 3, Pick 21 is money in the bank, a safety taken below his worth. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They robbed the room for Daylen Everette here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Max Klare in the Round 4 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A market-rate interior defensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on DeMonte Capehart. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
