Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Cowboys spent the 172nd pick on Trey Moore, a name most had 121 spots down the list. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. Getting Harris where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.
The Cowboys paired the rookies with proven help, Joe Alt leading the way. It is a win-now wager, and the future is the stake.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Tyler Warren at slot 30. The roster fit checks out.
In the Round 1 slot they get a true top target at a price that makes it sweeter. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
A tidy little value on Tyleik Williams in pick 44, a step better than break-even. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Darien Porter at No. 55 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Kaleb Johnson at the 58th pick is the proof. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Steal is underselling it; Xavier Watts at Round 3, Pick 2 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
They will replay Tre Harris at slot 76 for years; that is how good the value is. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Cam Skattebo in the 89th overall pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.

No edge and no loss on Dorian Strong in No. 170; it is a wash and a sensible one. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
