The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Giants spent their marquee pick on Drake Maye, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. McGregor at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.
If Mahogany pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 15 they get their guy under center for the next decade, and a steal at that. A clean fit for the roster.
Xavier Worthy at the Round 2 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A premium they did not need to pay, Brandon Dorlus a notch or two before his time. The roster fit checks out.
They paid up for Christian Mahogany at pick 82 when waiting would have done the job. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Cam Hart at pick No. 107 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A tidy little value on Beau Brade in the 166th overall pick, a step better than break-even. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A slide stopped in Round 6, Pick 11, with Braiden McGregor worth more than the price. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Nothing to complain about; JD Bertrand went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
