If you want a masterclass in dealing, watch the Chargers, who turned every swap into a profit this weekend. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B+.
If Allen pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. The cornerback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 8th pick they get a matchup problem out wide. The biggest hole, addressed.
Jonah Elliss at the Round 2 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They went early on Ruke Orhorhoro in slot 54, and the value did not follow. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
By-the-book stuff, Junior Colson at pick 69 squarely in line with his ranking. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
No edge and no loss on Jaden Hicks in Round 4, Pick 6; it is a wash and a sensible one. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
