You build a draft on nights like this. Trevor Keegan had no business being available in pick No. 183, and the Giants did the only sane thing and turned in the card. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
They punted on safety, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Interior defensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 6 they get a matchup problem out wide. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Ennis Rakestraw Jr. at No. 47 is money in the bank, a cornerback taken below his worth. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Jaylen Wright in the 70th pick is fair value, right on his grade. A need, and now a little less of one.
DeWayne Carter in slot 107 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They let James Williams come to them and pounced at Round 5, Pick 5. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Steal is underselling it; Trevor Keegan at the Round 6 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
