Start where it matters. The Raiders took Jaxson Dart to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.
The Johnson value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. Reaching for Dart left real value on the table behind him. They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own.
They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 24th pick they get the arm they will build around, though the board says they badly overpaid.
A tidy bit of business in pick No. 37, where Kenneth Grant graded well above the range. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They robbed the room for Jihaad Campbell here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
A running back of that caliber at No. 73 is the definition of value, full stop. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Value said wait; Emery Jones Jr. in pick 106 says they were not listening. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They reached into another round for Dorian Strong, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
