This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: TreVeyon Henderson, the No. 60 name on the board, stolen at the Round 5 slot. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.

They are betting Caldwell proves the room right and everyone else wrong. The cornerback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the cornerback spot they never got to.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.12 · Pick 12 · Abdul Carter · DE-EDGE · rank 7
In slot 12 they get a double-digit-sack hope. Need was not the driver here.
R2.12 · Pick 44 · Kenneth Grant · DT · rank 23
Taking Kenneth Grant in Round 2, Pick 12 is close to grand larceny; an interior defensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R3.12 · Pick 76 · Tyler Warren · TE · rank 43
The board fumbled Tyler Warren all the way to the Round 3 slot, and they scooped it up. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R5.11 · Pick 148 · TreVeyon Henderson · RB · rank 60
Somehow TreVeyon Henderson was still sitting there in pick 148, and they pounced on premier running back value. It fills a real need, too.
R5.31 · Pick 168 · Kalel Mullings · RB · rank 105
They barely believed it either: Kalel Mullings still on the board at the 168th overall pick. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R5.33 · Pick 170 · Carson Schwesinger · LB · rank 127
Carson Schwesinger at the 170th pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R5.36 · Pick 173 · Kobe Hudson · WR · rank 191
Kobe Hudson at pick No. 173 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R6.11 · Pick 186 · Tonka Hemingway · DT · rank 230
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Tonka Hemingway well ahead of where he belonged. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R6.34 · Pick 209 · Jamaree Caldwell · DL · rank 292
Jamaree Caldwell at the 209th pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R7.32 · Pick 248 · Jordan Hancock · S · rank 192
They will replay Jordan Hancock at pick No. 248 for years; that is how good the value is. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
