The Cowboys treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending the Round 7 slot on Charles Turner III a full 63 spots early.
The Johnson steal is the beam this whole class leans on. The cornerback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered. They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.

Jordan Morgan at the Round 2 slot is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Jeremiah Trotter Jr. in No. 87 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They paid sticker price for Cody Schrader in the 174th pick, and that is fine. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
