The Cowboys robbed the room for Scott. Final grade: A-.

The rest of the league will want that one back. Keionte Scott tumbling to the Cowboys in Round 3, Pick 32 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. The sum of the weekend is a deserved A-.

If Caldwell pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. The phones were where this weekend was really won. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Bottom line, with Arvell Reese leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.20 · Pick 20 · Arvell Reese · LB · rank 7
In No. 20 they get a downhill thumper at linebacker, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
R3.5 · Pick 69 · Jake Golday · OLB · rank 59
Nice patience on Jake Golday, who had no business lasting to the Round 3 slot. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
R3.32 · Pick 96 · Keionte Scott · CB · rank 61
A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, Keionte Scott in pick No. 96, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R4.6 · Pick 106 · Malik Muhammad · CB · rank 99
Malik Muhammad in the 106th pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R4.12 · Pick 112 · Dametrious Crownover · OT · rank 143
Dametrious Crownover at pick 112 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R5.1 · Pick 141 · Harold Perkins Jr. · LB · rank 132
The board had Harold Perkins Jr. higher than Round 5, Pick 1, and the linebacker fell to them anyway. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R5.12 · Pick 152 · Jeff Caldwell · WR · rank 186
They reached into another round for Jeff Caldwell, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R5.37 · Pick 177 · Kaleb Elarms-Orr · LB · rank 176
They took Kaleb Elarms-Orr at par in slot 177, which is nothing to complain about. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R5.40 · Pick 180 · Ephesians Prysock · CB · rank 187
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Ephesians Prysock. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R7.2 · Pick 218 · Aiden Fisher · LB · rank 224
Aiden Fisher at the Round 7 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
