Whoever sat across the table from the Packers should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend.
Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Landing Wiggins that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.
The veteran additions, Creed Humphrey chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not. Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.
Trust the process, because this time the process plainly worked.
Pick-by-Pick
The board had Nate Wiggins higher than the 51st overall pick, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
By-the-book stuff, Christian Mahogany at the 83rd pick squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A straight-up fair deal on Zak Zinter at slot 88, value and slot in agreement. It fills a real need, too.
Junior Colson in No. 119 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It adds depth where they could use a little.
A market-rate edge rusher, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Shemar Turner. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
