Nothing loud, just a tidy B- for the Cardinals.

The Cardinals put a flag in the ground for Donovan Smith, 93 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit.

King falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.

They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.16 · Pick 16 · Mason Graham · DT · rank 6
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Mason Graham at pick 16 is the proof. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R2.15 · Pick 47 · Matthew Golden · WR · rank 44
Matthew Golden at No. 47 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R3.14 · Pick 78 · Earnest Greene III · OT · rank 147
Earnest Greene III in the 78th overall pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R4.12 · Pick 113 · Donovan Smith · QB · rank 206
They reached into another round for Donovan Smith, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R5.14 · Pick 151 · Kobe King · LB · rank 123
They robbed the room for Kobe King here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A need, and now a little less of one.
