The tape said wait; the Patriots did not. Warren Brinson went at No. 220, a good 74 picks before the board was ready. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
The Hill pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 4 they get a quarterback's worst nightmare, though the board says they badly overpaid. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Nice patience on Derrick Harmon, who had no business lasting to the 38th overall pick. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Elic Ayomanor at Round 3, Pick 5 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
