For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The Saints walked out of the weekend still thin at cornerback, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons.
The Thomas value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
