The real work happened on the phones. The Giants fleeced their trade partners, turning their picks into a noticeably bigger pile than they started with. It holds up to a second look, which is why it earns the A-.

That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They are betting Worthy proves the room right and everyone else wrong. The Giants paired the rookies with proven help, Justin Fields leading the way.

Safety was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

Bottom line, they left the weekend a clearly better team, and they earned every bit of it.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.31 · Pick 31 · Keon Coleman · WR · rank 41
In pick No. 31 they get a difference-maker at receiver, though they paid up to get him. Exactly the need they had to hit.
R2.15 · Pick 47 · Xavier Worthy · WR · rank 67
Xavier Worthy in the Round 2 slot is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R2.31 · Pick 63 · Javon Bullard · S · rank 58
Fair-plus on Javon Bullard, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
