Start where it matters. The Giants took Michael Penix Jr. to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one.
Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. That is a linebacker worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. They will need Fautanu to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 3rd pick they get their guy under center for the next decade at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
They did well to land Kamren Kinchens in the Round 2 slot, just ahead of his grade. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A reach on Tyler Guyton in slot 57; the board had better options right there. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Troy Fautanu in Round 3, Pick 3 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Jalen McMillan at pick No. 103 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Jamon Dumas-Johnson slipping to the 140th overall pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
By-the-book stuff, Isaiah Adams at No. 181 squarely in line with his ranking. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
