Start where it matters. The Commanders took Jayden Daniels to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one.
Spann-Ford has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. They punted on wide receiver, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Jackson.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 2 they get their quarterback of the future. A clean fit for the roster.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Graham Barton at pick 36 is the proof. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They took Chris Braswell at par in the 40th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
The board had Kingsley Suamataia higher than the Round 3 slot, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Nothing to complain about; Cade Stover went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Khyree Jackson in the 100th pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
No edge and no loss on Tommy Eichenberg in slot 139; it is a wash and a sensible one. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Sione Vaki in pick No. 152 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Brevyn Spann-Ford at slot 222 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
