The Dolphins did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Trevor Keegan fell into the Round 7 slot.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 21st pick they get a difference-maker at receiver, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Edgerrin Cooper in No. 55 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They barely believed it either: Brandon Coleman still on the board at the Round 5 slot. The roster fit checks out.
Somehow Caedan Wallace was still sitting there in Round 6, Pick 9, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Beau Brade in the 198th overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Trevor Keegan at pick 241 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
