Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Cowboys spent No. 213 on DeMonte Capehart, a name the board had a full 85 spots lower.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through cornerback. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 24 they get a weapon on the perimeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
A conviction pick on Junior Colson at the 56th pick that the board grades a round light. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Matt Goncalves this early at the 87th overall pick. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A big swing on Braelon Allen at slot 125, well ahead of any board in the building. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
The board had cheaper options than Jaylan Ford at Round 5, Pick 37, and it noticed. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
