Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Patrick Paul got past him. The Chiefs do not have to explain a thing at the 95th overall pick. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
They will need McCormick to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. Leaving tight end unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 32 they get a home-run threat at receiver. Exactly the need they had to hit.
The board had cheaper options than Michael Hall Jr. at slot 64, and it noticed. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Somehow Patrick Paul was still sitting there in the 95th overall pick, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Mason McCormick in the Round 4 slot is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
No edge and no loss on Kitan Oladapo in the 158th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Dwight McGlothern in pick 172 is fair value, right on his grade. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
