The Wyatt Milum selection is the head-turner. The Chiefs reached 35 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.
That tight end hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 32 they get a matchup problem out wide. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Wyatt Milum in pick No. 64 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
The board had cheaper options than Dani Dennis-Sutton at Round 3, Pick 5, and it noticed. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A premium they did not need to pay, David Bailey a notch or two before his time. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They went early on Davison Igbinosun in the 128th overall pick, and the value did not follow. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Kobe Hudson in slot 160 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Value said wait; Jimmy Horn Jr. in No. 193 says they were not listening. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A wild overpay on Garrett Dellinger in the Round 7 slot, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
