Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Chiefs spent pick 64 on Darius Robinson, a name most had 57 spots down the list. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.
Leaving tight end unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. On value alone, Franklin makes the weekend a net positive.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 32 they get a matchup problem out wide, and a steal at that. The biggest hole, addressed.
Darius Robinson at pick 64 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Mason McCormick at No. 95 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They reached a country mile for Khristian Boyd at the 133rd overall pick, and the board is aghast. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A straight-up fair deal on Braelon Allen at pick No. 158, value and slot in agreement. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A premium they did not need to pay, Michael Barrett a notch or two before his time. The roster fit checks out.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Joshua Cephus. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They reached into another round for Dwight McGlothern, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
