Some picks age like wine; Isaac Guerendo at slot 95 will need to, sitting 34 spots clear of his grade. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Oladapo. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
A straight-up fair deal on Darius Robinson at pick 35, value and slot in agreement. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Ricky Pearsall at slot 64 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the wide receiver. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Javon Foster. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Isaac Guerendo well ahead of where he belonged. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Ben Sinnott in Round 4, Pick 32 is fair value, right on his grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They paid sticker price for Dwight McGlothern in No. 159, and that is fine. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Kitan Oladapo is a better player than Round 5, Pick 26 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
They took Khristian Boyd at par in pick 173, which is nothing to complain about. It fills a real need, too.
A tidy little value on Jalen Sundell in the Round 7 slot, a step better than break-even. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
