Kansas City Chiefs

The steal of the weekend belongs to the Chiefs and Thrash: D+.

The Chiefs lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again. Hard to defend, and the D+ reflects that.

Foster has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. They punted on tight end, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

Thrash at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.

A rough weekend that leaves the roster with more questions than answers.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.27 · Pick 27 · Quinyon Mitchell · CB · rank 20
They did well to land Quinyon Mitchell in pick 27, just ahead of his grade. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
R2.32 · Pick 64 · Xavier Legette · WR · rank 72
They paid a round early for Xavier Legette in Round 2, Pick 32, more than the board wanted. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R3.7 · Pick 71 · Brandon Dorlus · DE-EDGE · rank 79
The board had cheaper options than Brandon Dorlus at the 71st pick, and it noticed. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R3.32 · Pick 95 · Javon Foster · OT · rank 120
A wild overpay on Javon Foster in No. 95, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R4.32 · Pick 132 · Mason McCormick · OT · rank 146
Mason McCormick at the 132nd overall pick jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R5.2 · Pick 138 · Jaylin Simpson · CB · rank 136
Jaylin Simpson at slot 138 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
R5.23 · Pick 159 · Khristian Boyd · DL-EDGE · rank 168
They went early on Khristian Boyd in pick No. 159, and the value did not follow. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R5.37 · Pick 173 · Jamari Thrash · WR · rank 131
Somehow Jamari Thrash was still sitting there in the 173rd overall pick, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
