The Chiefs spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Jordan Magee, the No. 161 name on the board, in slot 191. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.
Every board in the league had McMillan lower, and that gap is the story. That tight end hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
Cooper DeJean in pick 46 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Kingsley Suamataia in the 64th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Jalen McMillan this early at slot 82. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Dominick Puni in No. 95 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They took Isaac Guerendo at par in pick No. 131, which is nothing to complain about. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A straight-up fair deal on Jaylin Simpson at the 159th pick, value and slot in agreement. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Justin Eboigbe in the Round 5 slot is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A linebacker of that caliber at Round 6, Pick 16 is the definition of value, full stop. The roster fit checks out.
Jalen Coker at the 221st pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
