This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Kris Abrams-Draine, the No. 122 name on the board, stolen at the 158th overall pick. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
The tight end spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Beebe has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 32 they get a go-to option on the outside at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Cooper Beebe at the Round 2 slot is a conviction pick that outran the value. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
No drama and no debate, Mason McCormick went about where he belonged in the 95th overall pick. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A straight-up fair deal on MarShawn Lloyd at pick 133, value and slot in agreement. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
You do not let a cornerback like Kris Abrams-Draine reach pick No. 158 and blink. They did not. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
A cornerback of that caliber at Round 5, Pick 36 is the definition of value, full stop. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Isaiah Williams at the 210th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Joshua Cephus at No. 250 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
